Frosh homework week of 1/2/14

2 Jan

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope your break was as restful as mine was. I was pretty productive overall, despite the fact that I didn’t do EVERYTHING on my list. I also got lots of sleep, saw lots of family, and got lots of friend time in. It was one of the more relaxing winter breaks I remember having. The fact that it was a whopping 12 days long didn’t hurt, either!

I hope the break from English homework helped you find some time to sleep, socialize, or read.

But now, of course, it’s back to the grindstone. Here’s your homework!

Edited 1/5/14- dates are adjusted to reflect new post-snow schedule.

Due Tues(A)/Wed(B), Jan 7/8

Due Thurs(A)/Fri(B), Jan 9/10

  • Blog post and comments due Wed 11:59pm for everyone; don’t forget to submit your comments to the survey!
  • Vocab unit 7 quiz (I made a Word-a-Minute playlist for it!)
  • Be sure you have your New York Times notebook for marking period 2 collection. **This should take you no time at all; all the work was done in class. If anything, maybe spend 10 minutes pasting in old prompts if you have them on looseleaf or something. If you spend lots of time getting your notebook ready, you are doing too much.

Due Mon(A)/Tues(B), Jan 13/14

  • Vocab unit 8 homework
  • Crucible quiz – here’s a study guide

Due Wed(A)/Thurs(B), Jan 15/16

Due Fri(A)/Tues(B), Jan 17/21

Due Wed(A)/Thurs(B), Jan 22/23

Due Fri(A)/Mon(B), Jan 24/27

Due Tues(A)/Wed(B), Jan 28/29*

  • Vocab 7-9 mastery test

Due Thurs(A)/Fri(B), Jan 30/31

  • Complete one wrecking activity in your Wreck This Journal and upload a photo of it to your blog. If you can’t find your journal, use a page from this packet. Tag your post with the word “wreck” so I can find them easily.
