Due Mon(A)/Tues(B), September 16/17
- Read up to page 41 of The Medium is the Massage. I know 41 pages sounds like a lot, but it goes quickly. I read the whole book in less than two hours, and I’m a slow reader. As you read, try to think of connections to today’s media. Remember that the book was written in 1967! Uncanny, right?
Due Wed(A)/Thurs(B), Sept 18/19
- Faux blog post to turnitin by 11:59pm on the day we have class
- Read up to page 81 in The Medium is the Massage. There’s not actually a page number written on the page, but it’s a blurry photograph (I’m not quite sure what it is), and in the top right-hand corner in white text, it says, “In the name of “progress,” our official culture is striving to force the new media to do the work of the old.”
