    • You can find the e-text and audio text here.
    • Keep in mind that Irving was a Romantic author and look for Romantic elements in the back of your mind as you read (respect for nature, favoring emotion over reason, solitude, etc. You have the slides that list the elements of romanticism.

Due Tues(B)/Wed(A), Feb 10/11

  • Read pages 48-60 of “Sleepy Hollow” (use the fact that it’s a short section to catch up on reading you may have “missed” last time :)
  • As you read, consider Romanticism, the fact that Ichabod and the SH inhabitants were superstitious, and the fact that Irving uses food/appetite/hunger symbolically.
